ISO 9001 Auditing
ISO 9001 Internal Audits - Why Do You Need To Do It?
Internal audits are a
necessary tool to monitor and maintain the health of management systems. Audits are used to determine the extent
management systems conform to requirements and whether they have been effectively implemented and maintained.
Requirements may be:
- Stated by your customers,
- Defined by your policies and procedures,
- Stipulated in government regulations,
- Established as industry standards, or
- Specified in the applicable management system standards.
The type, frequency and scope of internal audits performed will vary from
organization to organization depending upon the stage they are at in system development or maintenance. Two key
factors that affect organizations in performing internal or supplier audits are limited resources and specific
expertise in the management system standard.
While certification audits are the exclusive domain of Certification Bodies, they are
not allowed to perform internal or second-party supplier audits.

Description of our ISO 9001 Audit
Services
Gap
Assessment We will conduct a review of your current management system practices, controls and documentation,
to determine the extent to which it conforms to those required by the specific ISO, TS or other standard. An audit
report will be presented with our findings and recommendations to address the gaps. The Gap Assessment is the
starting point for planning your management system development.
Pre-Assessment Audit Once your management system has been fully implemented and sufficient
records exist to demonstrate effective performance, we can conduct a pre-assessment audit to determine whether your
management system is ready for the formal audit by an accredited Certification Body. We will present an Audit
Report and work with your staff to determine appropriate corrective action for any non-conformances
found.
At this time we will also provide CB audit awareness training to make your employees
familiar with the certification audit process and provide guidance on handling external audit
interviews.
Hands-on
Practice Internal Auditor Training In addition to the exhaustive in-class internal auditor training, we can
also provide hands-on practice audits at your facility as part of the training to give your internal auditors a
chance to apply their new auditing skills. They will plan the practice audit during class and receive feedback on
how well they applied the techniques and tools they learned in class.
Develop and Maintain your Internal Audit Program All management system standards require you
to plan and conduct an internal audit program. Many organizations with limited resources and internal audit
expertise and availability are now outsourcing internal audits.
With the experience of auditing literally hundreds of organizations, we can perform
this function for your organization and significantly reduce the risk of major issues being found when Certfication
body auditors conduct surveillance audits.
We can help you set up your internal audit program, including policies, procedures,
schedules and forms, checklists, detailed audit files and provide reports on all internal audits ready for
management review.
Supplier Development Program Supplier audits are an excellent way to
develop mutually beneficial supplier relationships. Some management standards such as TS 16949 require
supplier development to specific management system standards. Many organizations faced with limited resources
and lack of audit expertise are now outsourcing supplier development and management activities.
With our vast audit experience, we can perform this function for your organization in
a professional and cost-effective manner. We provide detailed audit reports including all nonconformities and
recommendations for improvement. Let us help you improve the overall performance and reliability of your supply
chain.
